About Us

Friends of Mt. Washington School is a non-profit organization whose mission is to raise funds and obtain donations to support educational, student enrichment, and capital improvement programs for Mt. Washington Elementary in Los Angeles.

Formed in 1993 by parents of children at the school, FOWMS conceived of and helped raise more than $4 million toward building a much-needed multipurpose room, library and kitchen on the campus, known as the Jack and Denny Smith Library and Community Center.
